Clear Cosmetics


Skincare consumers are bombarded with choices when it comes to the beauty counter, but, far too often, they lack the tools to effectively navigate the landscape. Consumers have very little to go by when making their decisions – they commonly have limited knowledge of cosmetics ingredients, manufacturing, and sources, and have to rely on methods other than their educated judgement to select products (often based on marketing or recommendations from friends or professionals).

NZC would like to empower consumers to make informed decisions about ingredients in the products they use. In order to give the public this agency, we are creating a mobile app that provides an objective transparency to ingredient labelling for cosmetic and toiletry products. We want to create a tool that will both give objective insight into products (cutting through marketing and misguided recommendations), and will also intrinsically help to educate consumers. This ethos of honesty and transparency underlies the New Zealand Cosmeceuticals brand.
